Wireless Security

At last count, our wireless survey revealed 1,236 unsecured wireless access points in homes and businesses in Solano County.  An unsecure wireless access point invites unscrupulous characters to invade your home or business and puts your private information at risk.  When you purchase a wireless access point from one of the major retailers, it comes out of the box with no security applied.  It has the ability to be very secure, but by default no security is enabled.  It is up to you, the user, to program the security.

Call us to have one of our skilled wireless engineers set up the proper security and encryption levels to keep the hackers out.  We will also scan your surrounding area to identify interference from other electronic devices that may be hindering your ability to properly connect to your wireless access point.  Our engineers will also identify any dead spots and make recommendations for proper coverage (repeaters, multi-honed access points, etc).

Key Benefits

  • Scan for conflicting wireless devices
  • Apply security filters
  • Identify wireless dead spots
  • Set proper wireless channel spacing

* Ultraband is our word for the next evolution in Broadband.  Broadband has an inherent limitation in its ability to send, or upload, information.  With more and more households using the Internet each day, upload ability is becoming an issue.  People are sending files, sharing photos, and using the Internet as a fax medium.  The standard 128Kb to 384Kb is no longer able to handle the load.  Solano Ultraband connects its users at a full 6Mb, thus making the upload as fast as the download.

** Comparative analysis applies to upload speeds - in most cases download is faster also.
